Rosemarie
Tasca d'Almerita's home sits on a hill top overlooking the family
estates.
Regaleali, from the Arabic words "Rahal Ali"
or "Ali's Fortress" is an ancient farm house
in the heart of Sicly, 1h.30min. approx. from Palermo, 1h.approx.
from Agrigento and its gorgeous temples, one hour from Cefalù
with its beautiful sea and the norman cathedral; not far from
Piazza Armerina's roman Villa del Casale and its famous mosaics,
and also near the less known enchanting villages on the Madonie
Mountains: Petralia, Gangi, Polizzi, Sperlinga, and others.
Today Regaleali
www.regaleali.it is an updated winery whose vineyards
produce some of the finest "crus" in Sicily.
The Tasca d'Almerita's have owned the farm for over a hundred
years.
While staying in Rosemarie's home you can visit, but you might
prefer to enjoy the slumbering enchantment of the countryside;
you can go footing, or you can relax, read, listen to good music
near the fireplace or on the terrace with sweeping views of the
vineyards.
The house is very secluded and quiet. The nearest village, Vallelunga,
is five kilometres away.
Here you will find stores sellingthe basic things you might need,
as well as a chemist, a petrol station, a restaurant with good
quality genuine food, a pizzeria and a farmer market on Friday
morning.
At 1h drive approx., in Campofelice di Roccella, there is the
new and beautiful Golf Club "Madonie".
If you prefer not to drive, there is a railway station in Vallelunga
where you can take a daily train to Palermo, Catania or Caltanissetta.
